There are some weeks that are meant for slowing down, being still, and nourishing our wonderfully designed bodies just a little bit more.

Let me introduce you to my Hibiscus Moon Tea blend which allows you to do all of the above. 🫖 It’s great for tightening and toning the smooth muscle of the body, cooling hot and inflamed tissues, and providing nourishing vitamins and minerals when you need a boost.

Here’s the recipe.

HIBISCUS MOON TEA

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup red raspberry (Rubus idaeus) leaf
  • 1/4 cup alfalfa (Medicago sativa) aerial parts
  • 1/4 cup nettle (Urtica dioica) leaf
  • 1/4 cup hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) calyces
  • 1/8 cup rose (Rosa spp.) petals
  • 1/8 cup cinnamon (Cinnamomum spp.) bark

Directions:

  1. Blend all botanicals together, mix well, and store in an airtight container for up to a year.
  2. Use 1 tbsp of Hibiscus Moon Tea blend for every 8 fl oz of water.

How I personally use this blend:

My favorite way to use this blend is to add 2 heaping tablespoons of tea to a pint-sized glass canning jar, cover with ~2 cups of boiled water, cap, and let sit for 20 minutes before straining.

I immediately reuse the herbs to make another pint-sized jar of moon tea, this time, letting it steep for around 4 hours. While the second batch is brewing, I sip on the first batch all morning, enjoying the second batch in the afternoon. This tea can be enjoyed hot or cold.

Love and light,
Meagan
